How it works

One marketplace. Two very good deals.

Candidates never pay to be found. Employers pay a fraction of a recruiter's fee — and only for the people they actually want.

Free For safety professionals

1
Upload your CV — free, always

We extract your qualifications, certifications and experience automatically.

2
We anonymise you

We strip all personal details from public view — employers see your role, experience, certifications and province, never your name.

3
Stay visible with one click

Confirm you're still available every 4 weeks — or your profile quietly pauses. No stale listings, no awkward calls.

4
Get hired directly

Employers reach out once they unlock your profile. You negotiate your own salary yourself, and SafetyTalent never takes a cut of it.

Paid For employers

1
Search anonymised profiles

Filter by province, experience, industry, specific certifications — and whether candidates want permanent roles, project work, or both. Every visible profile confirmed available within 4 weeks.

2
Choose how to pay

Unlock a single CV for R1 900, buy a 5-pack for R6 900, or go Talent Pro from R7 900/month for volume hiring.

3
Unlock full details

Full CV, contact details and referees — delivered instantly with a POPIA acknowledgement on record.

4
Hire directly

No placement commission. A typical agency fee on a R450k SHEQ hire is R45k–R67k. Keep it.

Projects · shutdowns · fixed-term

Need safety cover for a project?

Construction phases, plant shutdowns, audits and fixed-term contracts — many of our candidates are project-ready and available at short notice. Filter for project availability and unlock the same way, from R1 900. No placement fees, no contractor markups.

The SafetyTalent difference

Fresh profiles, not a CV graveyard.

The problem with big CV databases? Half the profiles are out of date before you even start searching. Every SafetyTalent profile must personally re-confirm availability every 4 weeks or it is automatically hidden. If you can see it, it's live.

  • Safety professionals onlySHEQ, HSE and OHS specialists exclusively — no wading through a generalist database to find one safety officer.
  • Availability confirmed every 4 weeksCandidates re-confirm they're still open with one click — stale profiles auto-hide, so you never chase ghosts.
  • Direct contact, zero commissionUnlock and phone them the same day. A typical agency fee is R45k–R67k per placement — keep it.

What happens before you see a profile

Every profile is prepared by hand.

A CV database gives you whatever the candidate typed. We read every CV against every submission first — and roughly two in three need something corrected, clarified or reworded before they go live.

What we check

The claim against the document. If someone's form says "Health and Safety Manager" but their CV says Officer, we ask them before listing. If a form claims SAMTRAC and the certificate is Introduction to SAMTRAC, the profile says Introduction to SAMTRAC. If a qualification is in progress, it says in progress.

Registrations are worded exactly. Candidate CHSO is not registered CHSO. Provisional is not full. Where a candidate has given us a registration number we hold it on file and release it with the CV on unlock — never on the public card, because the registers are searchable and a number would identify the candidate.

Salary figures are normalised. Around a third of candidates enter a monthly figure where an annual one is asked for. We confirm and convert, so the figure released to you on unlock is the number they actually mean — not one that is twelve times out.

Profiles that don't hold up don't go live. Where a CV doesn't support the role claimed on the form, we either reposition the candidate honestly or hold the profile back. You should never unlock a profile and find a different person underneath.

Where the line is

This is consistency checking, not verification. We check a candidate's claims against their own documents. We do not contact SACPCMP, SAIOSH, NEBOSH or any issuing body, and we never will claim to.

What that buys you is a profile that matches the CV you receive, in wording that matches the certificates. What it doesn't replace is your own vetting — interview properly, phone the referees, and check the registration numbers we release with the CV against the official registers.

Exactly what a listing is — and isn't →

Candidates protect themselves too. Anyone listing with us can name companies that must never see their profile — usually their current employer. Those blocks are checked by hand before every single unlock is delivered. It's why senior people who can't afford to be seen looking are willing to list here at all.

A note on who we sell to. Unlocks are sold to organisations hiring for a real, identified vacancy. Every candidate’s blocked-company list is checked by hand before we release anything.

For safety professionals

Professional CV revamp — R780

A professionally rewritten and redesigned CV, built by people who read SHEQ CVs every day — returned to you as an editable Word document within 2 business days, yours to use anywhere in your job search.

This is not a requirement. Listing on SafetyTalent is and always will be 100% free, and a revamp makes no difference to whether or how your profile is listed. It's an advantage worth taking when your current CV undersells you — and we'll tell you honestly if yours doesn't need it. Want to do it yourself first? Our free CV guide walks through the same ten rules we work to.

When a revamp helps

Employers pay to unlock your profile — and the CV they receive decides what happens next. A revamp is worth it when your safety experience is buried inside a broader career, when your CV leads with duties instead of qualifications and results, when it's grown into a long document that hides your strongest years, or when a career change means the document no longer matches the role you're targeting.

What you get

A full rewrite and redesign — not a template paste-over. Your safety, health, environment and quality experience pulled to the front; certifications and registrations worded exactly as they appear on your certificates; a clean, modern layout that reads well on screen and in print; and an editable Word document you own outright.

How it works

1. Pay the once-off R780 fee below.  2. We work from the CV you've already uploaded — if we need anything else, we'll email you.  3. Your revamped CV arrives by email within 2 business days, with one round of changes included.

How to write a CV for a SafetyTalent listing

Employers pay to unlock your profile — and the CV they receive decides what happens next. Ten rules, written by people who read SHEQ CVs every day. Nothing here costs you anything.

Printable CV checklist

Every point on this page as a two-page tick sheet. Print it, work through it, then upload.

Download the checklist (PDF)
1

Put your contact details at the very top

Full name, personal email address, mobile number, and the city and province you live in. Then add the four things every employer asks about before anything else:

  • Whether you are willing to relocate
  • Your driver's licence code, and whether you have own transport
  • Your notice period
  • Whether you are open to project and contract work, or permanent only
Use a personal email address, never your work one. If you have asked us to block your current employer, mail sent to a work address could still be seen by them.
2

Use your real, current job title

Write the title exactly as it appears on your contract or payslip. If you are a Safety Officer, write Safety Officer — not Safety Manager. Employers cross-check titles against references, and an inflated one is the fastest way to lose credibility on an unlock.

If you act in a more senior role, say so plainly rather than absorbing it into your title.

Write: Safety Officer (acting SHE Manager since March 2024)
Not: SHE Manager
3

List qualifications exactly as they appear on the certificate

This is where most CVs cost candidates interviews. Do not shorten, upgrade or guess — these are different qualifications and employers know the difference.

  • NEBOSH — state which one: International General Certificate, National General Certificate, International Construction Certificate, or the Diploma
  • SAMTRAC — state whether you completed full SAMTRAC or an introductory or short course
  • SACPCMP — give your category (CHSO, CHSM or CHSA), your registration number, and your exact status. Candidate CHSO and registered CHSO are not the same thing
  • SAIOSH — give your grade: Associate, Technical, Graduate or Chartered, with your membership number
  • Add the year obtained and the training provider for every qualification
Anything still under way should read in progress — expected [month/year]. Employers respect that. What they do not forgive is finding out a completed qualification was not completed.
4

Show your legal appointments

South African employers look for this immediately, and most CVs leave it out. List every appointment you hold or have held, with the section number:

  • OHS Act — 16(2), 8(2)(i), 17 SHE Rep, incident investigator
  • Construction Regulations — CR 8(1) Construction Health & Safety Officer, CR 8(5)
  • MHSA — 2.9.2, 2.13.1, 2.17.1, 3.1(a)
  • First aid, firefighting, SHE committee chair, and any other statutory appointment
5

Name your industries and site types

Write the sector for every role — mining, construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, logistics, food production, utilities, healthcare. For mining, state surface or underground and name the commodity. For projects, give the value, the site headcount and the contractor numbers.

Say whether it was a shutdown, greenfield, brownfield or operational site. Employers filter hard on relevant industry exposure, and "construction" alone tells them very little.

6

Quantify what you actually achieved

Under each role, give three to five bullets with numbers wherever you can:

  • Headcount and contractors you were responsible for
  • LTIFR, DIFR or TRIR movement during your tenure
  • Investigations completed, and the methodology used — ICAM, TapRooT, 5 Why
  • Audit results with scores — internal, client, DEL, DMRE or certification
  • Risk assessments, HIRAs or safe work procedures you developed
  • Training delivered — sessions, attendees and topics
Weak: Responsible for health and safety on site.
Strong: Managed SHE for a 340-person contractor workforce across three shafts; reduced LTIFR from 1.8 to 0.4 over 18 months; closed 92% of audit findings within deadline.
7

List your systems and standards experience

Standards: ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 31000, and OHSAS 18001 if that is what you were trained on. Software: IsoMetrix, Enablon, SHEQSYS, Intelex, SAP EHS, or Excel-based systems — say which, because employers running a specific system will search for it.

Add your methodologies too: HIRA, HAZOP, bow-tie, JSA, permit to work, legal registers and compliance tools.

8

Get the employment history right

Reverse chronological order, most recent role first. Month and year for every start and end date — a year on its own reads as something being hidden. Include the employer's full name and the site or project.

If there is a gap of more than three months, add a one-line explanation: retrenchment, contract end, studies, illness, family. Unexplained gaps raise far more questions than honest ones.

9

Keep the format simple and ATS-friendly

  • Word (.docx) or PDF only, under 8 MB
  • Two to four pages is right for most safety professionals
  • No photographs, text boxes, sidebars, tables or graphics — these break automated CV screening systems
  • One standard font throughout, clear headings, black text
  • Name the file properly: Thabo_Mokoena_SHE_Officer_CV.pdf
10

Leave these out

Do not include your ID number, a photograph, your marital status, religion, home street address or dependants. None of it helps you, and it exposes your personal information unnecessarily.

Write "References available on request" rather than listing your referees' contact details upfront — your referees will thank you, and you keep control of when they are approached.

Before you submit: check that your CV supports everything you enter on the registration form. If your form says SHE Manager and your CV says Safety Officer, or your form claims a registration your CV does not evidence, we will come back to you with a query — and that delays your listing. Two things worth double-checking: give your salary expectation as an annual figure in Rands, and enter blocked companies as company names only, not descriptions like "current employer".

List your CV — free, private, anonymous

Your name and contact details are never shown publicly. Employers see an anonymised profile and only receive your details after a paid unlock, with a POPIA acknowledgement on record.

Optional extra — professional CV revamp, R780. We'll professionally rewrite and redesign your CV and send it back as an editable Word document within 2 business days — yours to use anywhere in your job search. Completely optional: it makes no difference to your listing, which is and always will be 100% free. Read more & pay online, mention it when we confirm your listing, or email info@safetytalent.co.za.

Before you upload — read the 2-minute CV guide. The CV you attach here is exactly what an employer receives when they pay to unlock you. Our ten rules cover what to include, how to word your qualifications, and the mistakes that cost candidates interviews. Read the CV guide or download the printable checklist (PDF).

Use a personal address, not your work email. If you block your employer below, mail we send to a work address could still be seen by them.

Give an annual figure in Rands — if you think in monthly terms, multiply by 12. Your expectation is never shown on the public listing: it goes to an employer only once they've paid to unlock you, so nobody can screen you out on money before they've read what you can do. Leave it blank or write "market related" if you'd rather discuss it.

Company names only — most candidates list their current employer. Separate several with commas, and include parent or group companies. Please don't enter a person's name or a description like "current employer".

Please don't include copies of your ID book, ID card, passport or driver's licence. We don't need them, and anything in your CV goes to an employer when they unlock your profile. Your CV and your training certificates are enough. If your certificates show your ID number, that's fine, but a full identity document is not something you should be sending to any employer at application stage.

Fields marked * are required. We review and list new profiles within 2 business days — you'll get a confirmation email. You'll then confirm your availability every 4 weeks with one click; miss it and your profile simply pauses.

About us

Direct hiring for health & safety professionals

Recruitment agencies routinely charge 15–25% of a new hire's annual salary, and specialist roles sit at the top of that range. On a R450 000 SHEQ package that is R67 500 to R112 500, for introducing two people who could have found each other directly.

SafetyTalent removes that cost. Employers browse anonymised profiles and pay a small fee only for the candidates they want. Candidates list free, keep control of their information, and stay visible by re-confirming availability every four weeks.

We're a South African business built for South African compliance — POPIA isn't a footer link here, it's the architecture. Personal information is released only after a purchase, and every release is logged.

What makes us different

  • Free, anonymous listings for job seekers
  • Availability re-confirmed every 4 weeks — no stale profiles
  • Every visible profile confirmed available within 4 weeks
  • A fraction of the cost of a recruiter
  • POPIA-compliant release of personal data, logged per unlock

How listings work

We believe in being straight with both sides of the marketplace. Here is exactly what a SafetyTalent listing is — and what it isn't.

Every profile is read and prepared by hand

Candidates upload their own CV, certifications and registration details. Before anything is published, a person reads the CV against the submission and resolves what doesn't match — and roughly two in three submissions need something corrected, clarified or reworded first. Role titles are matched to the CV. Qualifications in progress are marked in progress. Candidate and provisional registrations are never presented as full ones. Monthly salary figures are confirmed and converted to annual. Where a CV does not support the role a candidate has claimed, we either reposition them honestly or hold the profile back rather than list it.

What that is — and what it isn't

This is consistency checking, not verification. We check a candidate's claims against the candidate's own documents, and we word the profile to match those documents. We do not contact SACPCMP, SAIOSH, NEBOSH or any other issuing body, and we do not confirm that a certificate or registration is genuine. SafetyTalent does not verify, check or endorse profile contents, and no profile should be treated as verified.

What the preparation buys you is a profile that matches the CV you receive on unlock, in wording that matches the candidate's certificates — so you are not comparing a claim on a card against something different in the document. Registration numbers are held on file and released to you with the CV on unlock — deliberately not shown publicly, because the professional registers are searchable and a number on a public card would identify an anonymous candidate. Once you unlock, you can check the number yourself on the official register in under a minute.

Candidates can block companies — and we check every time

Any candidate may name companies that must never see their profile, usually their current employer. Those blocks are checked by hand before every unlock is delivered, which is why professionals who cannot afford to be seen looking are willing to list with us at all. If a profile you are interested in has blocked your company, the unlock will not be processed and you will not be charged.

Availability is always live

Every candidate must personally re-confirm they are still looking every 4 weeks. Profiles that don't confirm are automatically hidden — so every profile you can see is current, and you won't waste an unlock on someone who found a job three months ago.

What you get when you unlock

The candidate's full CV as uploaded, their contact details and referee information, delivered instantly, with a POPIA disclosure acknowledgement logged on our side. From there you deal with the candidate directly — interviews, references, offers — with no commission owed to anyone.

Do your own vetting

As with any CV — from a job board, an agency or a walk-in — the employer is responsible for vetting before hiring. Interview thoroughly, phone the referees, and check professional registrations on the official public registers (SACPCMP and SAIOSH both offer free online register searches). Statutory appointments under the OHS Act, MHSA and Construction Regulations remain the employer's responsibility.

Fraudulent profiles

If you discover that a profile you unlocked contains fabricated documents or a false identity, report it to info@safetytalent.co.za. Profiles found to be fraudulent are permanently removed from the platform.

Legal

Terms of use

Last updated July 2026

1. Who we are

SafetyTalent ("we", "us") operates safetytalent.co.za, an online platform connecting health, safety, environment and quality professionals ("Candidates") with businesses seeking to hire them ("Employers"). By using the platform you agree to these terms.

2. We are a platform, not an agency

SafetyTalent is not an employment agency, recruiter or employer. We do not select, place, endorse or recommend any Candidate, and we are not a party to any employment relationship formed between Employers and Candidates. All hiring decisions, interviews, reference checks, statutory appointments and employment terms are made solely between the Employer and the Candidate.

3. Candidate accounts

  • Listing is free. You warrant that all information and documents you upload are true, accurate and your own.
  • Uploading fraudulent qualifications or misrepresenting registrations results in permanent removal and may be reported to the relevant professional body.
  • Your profile is displayed anonymised. Your personal details are released only to Employers who unlock your profile or to whom you submit a job application.
  • You may name companies that must never receive your details, and we check that list by hand before every delivery. Where a recruiter or labour broker buys an unlock on behalf of a client, they must tell us which organisation the vacancy is with, and they may not identify you to that organisation until we have confirmed it is not on your blocked list.
  • We do not sell unlocks to CV resellers or CV database operators. No buyer may add your details to a database, market them, or pass them to any party that does not have a genuine vacancy you have been unlocked for.
  • You must re-confirm availability every 4 weeks; unconfirmed profiles are hidden, not deleted. You may delete your profile at any time.

4. Employer accounts

  • Accounts are free; fees apply per unlock, subscription or job post as displayed on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
  • Who may buy. Unlocks are sold to registered businesses and organisations recruiting for a real, identified vacancy, whether that vacancy sits within your own organisation or with a client you are recruiting for. You warrant that you are authorised to act for the legal entity named on your account, that the entity is registered and trading, and that every unlock relates to a genuine vacancy in existence at the time of purchase.
  • CV resellers and database operators may not purchase unlocks. You may not buy unlocks in order to build, supplement, trade or sell a CV database, to market Candidate details, to re-list a Candidate on another platform, or to pass a Candidate’s details to any party that has no genuine vacancy for them. Accounts used for these purposes are closed without refund, and we may notify affected Candidates.
  • Recruiting on behalf of a client. If you are recruiting for a third party rather than for your own organisation, you may buy unlocks, subject to three conditions. First, you must tell us which organisation the vacancy is with before we release anything. Second, you must not pass the Candidate’s details to that organisation, or identify the Candidate to them, until we have confirmed that the Candidate has not blocked it. Third, you must impose on that organisation the same confidentiality and POPIA obligations you accept under these terms, and you remain responsible for their compliance. Disclosing a Candidate to a company that Candidate has blocked is a serious breach: the account is closed without refund, the Candidate is informed, and we reserve the right to pursue any remedy available to us.
  • Verification before delivery. Before any Candidate's details are released we may require your registered legal entity name, CIPC registration number, a work email address on your company's own domain, and the name and role of the person purchasing. Where you are recruiting for a client we will also ask for that client’s name. Where we cannot reasonably satisfy ourselves that the unlock relates to a genuine vacancy, we will refuse it and refund in full.
  • Candidate blocks, and how they affect you. Candidates may name companies that must never receive their details. You will never see that list, and you are not expected to know what is on it: we check it ourselves before every delivery. If your company is on a Candidate's list, we simply refuse the unlock and refund you in full, and we will not tell you which Candidate it concerned. What we do ask of you is that you register in your own true company name and buy on your own behalf. Using a different name, a personal capacity, a related company or another person to reach a Candidate you believe has blocked you is a serious breach: the account is closed without refund, the Candidate is informed, and we reserve the right to pursue any remedy available to us.
  • You may use unlocked personal information solely to evaluate and contact that Candidate about the genuine vacancy for which they were unlocked, whether that vacancy is within your own organisation or with a client you have identified to us.
  • You must keep unlocked details secure, restrict access to your hiring team, and delete or destroy them within six months if the Candidate is not hired, unless the Candidate agrees otherwise. Any request from a Candidate to access or delete their information must be referred to us.
  • You may not resell, scrape, publish or add unlocked details to marketing or CV databases, and you may not charge any third party for access to them. Sharing is limited to your own hiring team and, where you have identified a client to us and we have cleared it, that client’s hiring team. Each unlock is logged together with your POPIA acknowledgement.
  • Job posts must be genuine, lawful vacancies. We may remove posts that are misleading, discriminatory or unlawful, without refund.

5. Payments, subscriptions and refunds

  • Prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store card details.
  • Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Cancel anytime; access and remaining unlocks run to the end of the paid period. Unused monthly unlocks do not roll over.
  • Unlock guarantee. If a Candidate you unlock does not respond to you within five working days of delivery, or is found not to be genuinely available for the role, we will provide a replacement unlock or a full refund at your election, provided you notify us within fourteen days of delivery.
  • Unlocks are final once Candidate details are delivered. Profiles are listed as submitted by Candidates and SafetyTalent does not verify their contents; Employers are responsible for their own vetting before hiring.

6. Listings

Candidate profiles are listed as submitted by the Candidate. SafetyTalent does not check, verify or endorse any qualification, registration, experience claim or other content of any profile, and gives no warranty as to its accuracy, nor as to Candidate performance, suitability, honesty or registration status. Employers remain solely responsible for their own vetting, reference checks and for compliance with the OHS Act, MHSA, Construction Regulations and all applicable law when making appointments. Profiles reported to us and found to be fraudulent will be removed.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use the platform to harvest data, circumvent fees, harass any person, post unlawful content, or interfere with the platform's operation or security.

8. Intellectual property

The platform, its design, branding and content (excluding user-submitted content) are our property. Candidates retain ownership of their CVs and grant us a licence to host, anonymise and display them for the purpose of operating the platform.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, including the Consumer Protection Act, our total liability arising from the platform is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including hiring outcomes, workplace incidents or loss of profit.

10. Termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You may close your account at any time; clauses that by their nature survive (including 4, 8 and 9) continue to apply.

11. General

These terms are governed by South African law. We may update them, and will notify registered users of material changes. Contact: info@safetytalent.co.za.

1. What this covers

This policy explains how SafetyTalent collects, uses, stores and shares personal information in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). SafetyTalent is the "responsible party" for platform data; Employers become independent responsible parties for information they unlock.

2. What we collect

  • Candidates: name, contact details, CV contents, qualifications, certifications, registration numbers, work history, province, availability status and (optionally) salary expectations.
  • Employers: company name, contact person, work email, phone, billing information and purchase history.
  • Everyone: basic technical data (device, browser, usage logs) needed to run and secure the platform.

3. Why we process it

  • To create and display anonymised Candidate profiles (with your consent, given at upload).
  • To release Candidate details to a specific Employer after a paid unlock or a job application made by the Candidate.
  • To process payments, provide support, send service emails (including 4-weekly availability confirmations) and meet legal obligations.
  • To compile aggregated, de-identified statistics such as the SA SHEQ Salary Report. De-identified data cannot be traced back to you.

4. What we never do

  • We never display Candidate names, photos or contact details publicly.
  • We never sell personal information to marketers or data brokers.
  • We never release details to an Employer without a logged unlock and POPIA acknowledgement, or a job application initiated by the Candidate.

5. Sharing and operators

We use vetted service providers ("operators" under POPIA) for hosting, email delivery and payment processing, bound by written agreements to protect your information. Personal information is stored on servers with appropriate, industry-standard security safeguards; where any provider stores data outside South Africa, we ensure a level of protection consistent with POPIA section 72.

6. Retention

Candidate profiles remain while the account is active. Paused profiles are retained so you can reactivate them; you may delete your account at any time, after which personal information is deleted or de-identified within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example, billing records) and unlock logs retained for audit purposes.

7. Your rights under POPIA

  • Access, correct or delete your personal information at any time — one email to informationofficer@safetytalent.co.za is all it takes.
  • Withdraw consent (this hides your profile and stops further processing).
  • Object to processing or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.

8. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and logging of every release of personal information. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause harm, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected users as required by POPIA section 22.

POPIA & data protection

Plain-language answers to the question every candidate asks: "who can see my details?"

The short version

  • Your name, phone, email, photo and referees are never shown publicly. The public sees an anonymised profile only — role, province, experience and certifications.
  • Your full details are released only when a buyer pays to unlock your profile, or when you yourself apply to a job on our board. A buyer may be the hiring organisation itself, or a recruiter acting for a hiring organisation they have identified to us. In either case we check your blocked-companies list first.
  • Every release is logged: which employer, which date, and their signed acknowledgement that they will handle your information lawfully under POPIA.
  • You can block specific companies (like your current employer) from ever receiving your details, whether they unlock you themselves or a recruiter tries to introduce you to them. Just name them when you sign up, or email us anytime.
  • You can pause or delete your profile at any time. Miss a 4-weekly availability confirmation and it pauses automatically.

For employers: your obligations after an unlock

When you unlock a profile you become a responsible party for that information under POPIA. In the acknowledgement you accept at checkout, you agree to use the details only to evaluate and contact that candidate about the specific vacancy you unlocked them for, to keep them secure, not to resell them or add them to any database, and to delete them when no longer needed. If you are recruiting for a client, you must identify that client to us and obtain our clearance before passing the candidate’s details on, because candidates can block companies and that protection has to survive the handover. Misuse leads to account closure and may be reported to the Information Regulator.

Why we built it this way

Job boards traditionally leak candidate data — CVs with phone numbers visible to anyone with an account. In safety-critical industries, many candidates are employed while looking, and discretion matters. Pay-to-unlock isn't just our business model; it's the privacy mechanism. Access costs money, is tied to an identified company, and leaves an audit trail.

Information Officer & your rights

Our Information Officer is registered with the Information Regulator (South Africa) and can be reached at informationofficer@safetytalent.co.za. You may at any time request confirmation of what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Send your request to the Information Officer; we respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator at complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.

Where your information is stored

Our website and form submissions are hosted by Netlify, and email is routed via ImprovMX — service providers whose servers are located outside South Africa. Payments are processed by Paystack. By submitting your information you consent to this cross-border storage, which is protected by contractual and technical safeguards required under section 72 of POPIA.

How long we keep your information

Candidate information is kept while your profile is active. Updating, pausing or deleting your profile takes one email to us. If you ask us to delete your profile, or your profile has been paused for 12 months without an availability confirmation, your CV and personal details are permanently deleted from our records.

Full details are in our Privacy Policy and our PAIA Manual (available on request from the Information Officer). Questions or requests: informationofficer@safetytalent.co.za.
